Why we built Milan CM.

By our estimate, foreclosure sales leave billions of dollars behind every year.

When a home sells for more than is owed, the difference belongs to the former owner. Most never collect it. They have moved on, or they do not know it exists. The money waits in courthouses, trustee accounts and state programs, across more than 3,000 counties with no common system.

For decades this was the business of a cottage industry: small operators and uneven practice. In 2023 the Supreme Court affirmed the underlying principle in Tyler v. Hennepin County. The surplus is the owner’s. What remained missing was the infrastructure.

That is what we built. Data to find the claims. Compliance work to file them correctly in every state where we operate. Operations to carry each one through the court and back. And a platform through which accredited investors can purchase in packages of these claims, with every document in one place.

We hold ourselves to a simple standard. We keep a share of every claim, so we are paid when our investors are. We do not list what we cannot execute. Every purchase comes with its agreement and Due Diligence Packet.

Markets like this one do not stay inefficient. Tax liens in the 1990s and single-family rental in the 2010s were overlooked, then institutionalized. We intend to be the institution in this one.
